Don’t miss this opportunity to hear the latest developments about the Kildonan Clearances Trail (App). You will find out which historic sites have been selected along the route and there is still time to have your say! You will see some of the stunning new photographic images along with old archival images, as well as the old Pre-Clearance settlements on old maps of the Strath never seen before!

Appeal for old photographs and stories
We would be delighted to hear from anyone who has old photographs portraying life in the Strath of Kildonan to use in the trail. We can scan original and return within 1 week.

Kildonan Clearances 2013

A major new project about the ‘Clearances’ that will engage with communities in the local area and visitors from all over the world. Museum Without Walls will use digital technology to open the door to the landscape and people of the Clearances – venturing beyond the walls of the museum to begin an exciting journey of discovery and reflection. For many visitors who have ancestors who were involved in the Clearances it will be like going home!
